No Question Is Silly
The things people ask us every week, answered before you have to.
Do I need a finished design?
No. Bring the reference, the rough thought, the screenshot, the story, or the "I know what I want but can't explain it" feeling. Shaping the idea is part of what we do.
Is the consult really free?
Yes. It's a conversation, not a commitment: we talk through the idea, placement, size and what to expect, and you decide from there.
Can I just walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. It's the only way to be sure the right artist has time for you.
How should I prepare for a tattoo?
Eat a proper meal beforehand, stay hydrated, get a good night's sleep and skip the alcohol. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being worked on.
What should I bring?
ID, your reference images, a snack and some water, plus any questions you've been saving up, written down so you don't forget them in the chair.
How is a tattoo priced?
On size, detail and placement, so the real number comes at your consult, before anything starts. Piercings are priced on the piercing plus the jewellery you choose.
Can I spread the cost of a big piece?
Ask us about tattoo finance for larger work like sleeves, cover-ups and multi-session pieces. Finance is provided by a third party and subject to their own approval and checks. Step Up doesn't set rates or decide approval.
